Steggy Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 22, 2026
Steggy is provided by Individual Entrepreneur ANATOLI SAMOILENKA, registered in Georgia. Contact: support@getsteggy.com. Our registered address and business identification details are available in Legal information.
Activity and profile information
With your permission, Steggy reads steps, walking and running distance, active energy, exercise minutes, flights climbed, weight, height, date of birth and biological sex from Apple Health. It uses this information to show your activity, personalize your profile and provide walking progress and insights. The profile stores a birth year rather than a full date of birth. You can also enter or change profile information in the app.
Steggy requests permission to read these categories during setup. When you start a walk or run, it separately asks to save workouts to Apple Health and to use your iPhone's motion sensors for live steps and distance. Completed workouts are saved to Apple Health with your permission. Steggy does not delete Health records. You can change Health and Motion & Fitness access in your device settings. If access is unavailable, activity information may be incomplete or absent.
Activity history, your profile, goals, achievements, streaks and preferences are stored on your devices. Steggy shares relevant activity and settings with its widgets and paired Apple Watch through Apple's device facilities. A widget can also read the current day's activity directly from Apple Health using the access granted to Steggy. It keeps a protected local snapshot so it can continue showing the last available activity when Health is temporarily unavailable; this snapshot is excluded from device backups. Steggy does not automatically upload your Health records to us. We do not use health information for advertising, marketing or data brokerage. Steggy does not offer its own cloud account or iCloud synchronization service. Apple's own Health synchronization and device services are governed by your Apple settings and Apple's privacy information.
Location and weather
If you allow location access, Steggy uses your device's location to request local weather from Apple WeatherKit for weather information and walking suggestions. The app requests kilometer-level accuracy, but the location supplied by iOS can be more precise depending on your device settings. Location and weather results are cached in memory to support this feature. Steggy does not operate a location-history server. You may deny or withdraw location permission and continue using features that do not need weather.
Apple explains that WeatherKit uses location to provide forecasts without associating it with personally identifiable information or tracking it between requests. See Apple WeatherKit.
Purchases, notifications and analytics
Subscriptions and payments are handled by Apple through the App Store. Steggy reads Apple-verified purchase status to enable paid features; we do not receive your payment card details. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account. Deleting Steggy data does not cancel an Apple subscription.
With permission, Steggy schedules local reminders. You can change notification permissions in device settings.
Steggy uses Google Analytics for Firebase on iPhone to help us understand setup, which screens and widget sizes are used, use of the purchase screen and purchase problems. When your App Store country or your device region is in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Steggy asks on its first screen and analytics stays off unless you allow it. Elsewhere analytics is on for new installs. If you started setting up Steggy with an earlier version, analytics stays off unless you turn it on. You can turn it on or off at any time using Share Analytics in Steggy Settings. Keeping it off does not restrict app features. We do not send earlier app actions when you later enable analytics.
If enabled, we send numbered setup steps, purchase-screen source and variant, selected subscription product, purchase attempts and outcomes, trial starts and standardized billing error categories. Google's SDK also collects app sessions and lifecycle events, app and device information, and StoreKit purchase information such as product identifiers and prices. Google derives general location from masked IP addresses; Steggy does not send your device's GPS coordinates to analytics. Analytics records use an identifier for this app installation so Google can recognize returning use. They are pseudonymous, not guaranteed anonymous. We do not attach your name, email, Apple account, Health records, profile answers, fitness progress or custom user-profile properties to analytics.
We do not use analytics for advertising, collect Apple's advertising or vendor identifiers, or enable automatic screen-name reporting. We do not use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Optional analytics does not change how Steggy handles Health and weather information described above. See Google's Analytics data disclosures and Google's privacy policy.
You can withdraw analytics consent in Steggy Settings. This stops further collection, clears local analytics data and resets the Analytics app-instance identifier. It does not automatically delete events already received by Google. Event and user data held by Google are subject to the retention settings of our Analytics property; aggregated reports may be retained longer. Contact us for the applicable retention setting or a data request. Because we do not associate the installation identifier with your contact information, an email address alone may not let us locate particular analytics records.
Exports and support
An export creates CSV and JSON files containing activity history and, in the JSON file, profile information, goals, streaks and achievements. Files are shared only when you choose a destination in the system share sheet. Steggy attempts to remove its temporary export files after the sharing flow; copies saved or sent elsewhere remain under your control and the recipient's policies.
If you contact support, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. The in-app email draft includes app version, device type and iOS version so we can diagnose the problem; you can edit it before sending. Do not include Health exports unless needed for your request. Contacting support is optional and is not required to use Steggy. You choose whether to send each message. We use support correspondence to respond and resolve the issue, not for advertising, marketing, tracking or building user profiles. Messages sent to our support address are forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing to Gmail, provided by Google, where we receive and manage them. These providers process message content, addresses and delivery metadata to deliver, secure and store correspondence. We keep correspondence while it is needed to resolve your request, handle follow-up questions, prevent abuse or meet applicable legal obligations; we then delete it. You can ask us to delete correspondence sooner, subject to obligations that require us to retain it.
Retention, deletion and your choices
Local app records remain until you remove them using Delete All Data in Steggy Settings or they are removed with the app's storage. This action does not delete original Apple Health records, cancel subscriptions, or remove exports already saved or sent. If you grant Health access again, the app can read the original Health records again. Paired-device cleanup may require the devices to reconnect. An app data reset invalidates the widget’s saved activity snapshot. Its cached file may remain in widget storage until the widget replaces or removes it on a later run, or iOS removes that storage.
You can use the export feature to obtain the information described above. Change Health, location and notification permissions in your device settings. For requests concerning support correspondence, contact the address above. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, receive portable data, withdraw consent and complain to your local data protection authority. We cannot remotely retrieve or delete records that remain only on your devices.
Website and service providers
When you visit getsteggy.com, our hosting infrastructure processes your IP address, the requested page, browser information and connection details to deliver and secure the site. The site has no account system, advertising, analytics scripts or tracking cookies. We do not enable routine website access logs. Operational error logs may contain request information and are used to investigate availability or security issues; they are not used for profiling.
Cloudflare provides our domain DNS and email routing and may also deliver and protect website traffic when its proxy is enabled. Google provides optional Firebase Analytics and the Gmail mailbox used for support. See Cloudflare's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy. Google states that Gmail message content is not used to personalize ads. Apple handles Health platform services, weather and App Store transactions under its own policies. Links to other websites take you to services governed by their own privacy practices.
We require service providers that receive personal information through Steggy to protect it to at least the same standard described in this policy and required by applicable App Store privacy rules. We limit the information shared to what is needed for the service and access to support correspondence to people handling support. These requirements do not mean that providers have no independent legal obligations or that their backup copies are erased immediately when we delete a message.
We disclose information only where needed to provide these services, follow your sharing instructions, comply with law or protect legal rights and security. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Service providers may process information outside your country. Where applicable law requires safeguards for a transfer, we use the safeguards required by that law; contact us for information about a transfer relevant to your request.
Basis for processing
IE ANATOLI SAMOILENKA is responsible for the personal information we process as the provider of Steggy. Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent for analytics in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and elsewhere on our legitimate interest in improving the app, which you can object to at any time by turning analytics off in Steggy Settings; your permission for optional Health, motion, location and notification access; providing the service you request for app functionality and support; our legitimate interests for necessary website security, abuse prevention and handling general inquiries; and legal obligations where applicable. You can withdraw analytics consent in Steggy Settings and optional device permissions in device settings. Withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully performed. Do not email sensitive health information unless it is necessary for a support request.
Children and changes
Steggy is a general fitness app and is not directed specifically at children. The App Store age rating describes its content and does not replace applicable parental-consent requirements. Contact us if you believe a child has sent personal information to support that should be removed.
We will update this policy if our data practices change and show the revised effective date here.
